Our Labour & Employment practice involves advising and representing Clients in matters concerning or affecting employees and management relationship as well as employment law issues such as structuring executive compensation and employee severance arrangements. We often represent Clients as their Legal Advisers or as part of their negotiating team during remuneration or collective bargaining negotiations with their Staff Unions. We advise our clients on all labour law regulations and work with their management team to develop strategies in connection with mergers, acquisitions and other business combinations to ensure the clients' compliance with relevant Nigerian labour laws including Employees' Compensation Act; Factories Act, Labour Act, Trade Disputes Act, Trade Unions Act, Pension Reform Act and other labour related Acts or Laws.
In addition, we also represent employers and employees in matters before the National Industrial Court which by virtue of the 3rd Amendment is the exclusive Court for all employment related litigations or proceedings. We litigate all types of employment-related actions ranging from employment contract claims, actions for breach of restrictive covenants to suits for wrongful dismissal and employment discrimination.
